Jim Lawler
Jim has over 30 years of experience in alternative and traditional asset management, with roles encompassing sales, marketing, trading, client relationship, investment and product development. Jim’s expertise lies in fund marketing and development, having raised over $1 billion dollars for various traditional and alternative investment products. Jim has worked for several leading marketing organizations focusing on alternative investments, including his role as Managing Director of Silver Leaf Partners and as a Managing Partner of Newfield Advisors. Previous experience includes developing and running a fund of hedge funds, where he was an active member of the investment committee and marketing teams. Prior to his alternative investment experience Jim held the position of Head of North American Institutional Sales and Marketing for Nikko Global Asset Management as well as senior positions at a number of other asset management firms, he began his career as an FX options trader.
Jim has served on the Board of Directors of the TS Alliance and the TS Alliance Endowment Fund. He currently sits on the board of directors of the Glenn Howatt Foundation, Abilis Inc. and Twin Meadows, Inc (dedicated to building accessible playgrounds for handicapped children). Jim volunteers his time as an adaptive ski instructor for the Bart J. Ruggiere Adaptive Sports Center in Peru, VT working with people with cognitive and physical disabilities to enjoy the sport of skiing.
Jim is an alumni of Portsmouth Abbey and New York University. He holds his series 63 and 7 securities licenses. He resides in North Stamford with his wife and three children and is an active member of the community. He is an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished sailor and competitive ocean racer.
